I need help!!!

Recently I was thinking about new camera. I was almost sure that I will chose Canon EOS d400, but now I dont know what to think. I've heard a lot of bad opinion about this camera and about it's lens (35-55mm as I can remember). But now i have another proposition: Sony Alpha a300. I now, taht it's based on Minolta technology, and people have very good opinion about it. The only think that I'm worry about is life view. Version without it- a200 is not enough for me.
The question is: what you can tell about this model, is it worth to buy? Please help me!
And of coure is it better or worse than canon d400 and Nikon d40???
